I'm still in my pajamas. But at least I'm not still in bed.

So, it's been a full week. On Monday, I rode down to Curves to work out, and on the way back, I saw a dog in the road. The really busy road. So, by the time I got even with him he was across safely and headed back down the sidewalk. I tried not to be a sucker and get involved, but I'm just not a monster, so I crossed over too, and rode back down to him. He was a cute little brown dog with pointy up ears. He had tags, but they didn't have his name, just an 800 number. So I called and got a number for an adoption place way up in payson. I called there and had to leave a message. So by then I've realized that I'm not going to be able to just wait with him a few minutes till someone comes to pick him up, and he's going to have to come home with me. I was standing there trying to figure out how to get him to come home with me after a failed attempt with leading him with my bike chain and then freaking him out by tying my jacket sleeve to his collar when a woman pulled up and asked if i needed help. So i explained that he was alone so I couldn't just leave him, but that I couldn't get him home with just my bike and no leash. So she went home and get me a leash, and then actually drove him over to the house for me. I let him stay in the backyard and gave him mighty dog and some water till the adoption place called me. They let his owner know where he was, and his owner picked him up and brought him home. So that's my story about dog rescuing. He was a happy cheerfull dog, it was fun. Except, my husband pretty much sucks, and got all " what are getting involved with stray dogs for, why are you bringing dogs home?" Oh, i'm sorry, because I'm not evil like you, maybe. Anyway, he apologized when I got mad at him for being a crappy mean guy. So I can't really be mad at him anymore. But now I have the number for animal control in my phone and a leash in my backpack so I'll be better prepared if I have to help another dog.

My knitpicks order should come today. Yay! At least, it'd better come today, or I'll be angry. I ordered on the 21st.

I ruined Ben's pretty alpaca and wool gray and maroon socks yesterday. I threw them in the washer thinking they'd felt just a little because they were kinda too loose and floppy, but they felted WAY more than I thought they would, and I don't think they're going to even get onto his feet anymore. But I can always make him more, I guess.

I'm excited about the knitpicks order because it's mostly new needles that I need to work with some new yarns I got. I picked up a skein of the new SWTC sock yarn, Tofutsies this past weekend. I'm not sure it I like it or not yet. I think it's having a tendancy to split, but we'll see after I get the chance to work with it a little more. I got it at Tempe Yarn and Fiber along with some fixation, green for socks for me, and brown for socks for ben, and another skein of Tofutsies for my mom. The people there are always real friendly, it's a great yarn store.

I don't have any concrete plans for today. I would like to go to Fashion Bug and look for some of those exercise pants like my mom sent me, but other than that I have a full day of reading and knitting ahead of me. I might bake some gooey caramel cinnamon rolls, and I've got dishes and laundry to do. And I've got to make some phone calls to make appointments for meeting for the marriage prep classes and stuff. So I guess I was fooling myself, and I do have a lot to do today.

My milk shake is better than yours.

So, things have been good. Las Vegas was interesting, but I can't say I'd be thrilled to go back there any time soon. That city might be the driest place I've ever been. My skin got so dried out in just three days, I'd hate to think of how much moisturizer people who live there go through.

I'm working about twice as many hours this week as usual, but that doesn't really put me right up there, considering I usually do 11 hours a week. I do have to open and close on Saturday, so I'm a little apprehensive about that, but it should all go well. It's not that hard to do. As long as I don't set off the alarm.

The sunshine here this morning is all golden and warm looking. I have to admit, I like it when it does that.

Yesterday, a Knights of Columbus insurance guy came over to the house. He was very nice, but dude, I just glaze over when you talk numbers at me like that. I made banana bread and got to play good hostess though, so that was fun.

I'm taking the test for Jeopardy tonight. I was supposed to do it last night, but the guy was here two minutes too long. So tonight it will be.

One of the ladies at Curves thinks I'm crazy because I think I look like SuperNanny and I like to put on the Rocky medley and pump my fists in the air as I run around. I suppose she's got a valid point.

The previous pictures are mostly from the wax museum. Which mostly creeped me out.

I've got new work out pants to wear to work today. I'm very excited about them, because the pair I bought a couple of weeks ago are the most unflattering pants imaginable. Remember MC Hammer's shiny gold pants. Like those, but these are blue knit fabric. Anyway, they suck. So my mom was nice enough to pick me up a pair of cool ones that her fashion bug sells, but I couldn't find here. And they came yesterday, so I'm excited about getting to wear them today. I'm going to have to go back to this fashion bug and look again, because I was looking in the wrong section I think. And I need these in every color. It's so weird wearing work out clothes so much, like wearing jammies to work.

I cleaned the house like crazy yesterday. And I'm banning either of us from keeping more than one pair of shoes or one coat in the kitchen at a time. We live in Arizona and there are only two people in this house. We do not need 8 coats hanging by the door.

I took apart that cursed sweater that I've been making for ben since august. I'm going to try it from the armholes up one more time. And if that doesn't work, I'm going to hide it again and start work on mine. And I want to work on some nice sleeveless sweaters for the spring and summer soon. I have lots of shine from knitpicks in blush for that. And some slight shimmery white yarn that would make a very good summer top. So, that'll be a more fun thing than this monster black man sweater. But I'll give it one more try to finish it before I give up and branch off to something else again.

Okay, I have to go shower and get to work. Somehow, this morning just dissappeared on me.

The first post of a new year should be a momentous thing.

We had a good Christmas and it was a very nice trip home to MI. If somewhat crowded and busy, but very nice.

I noticed something funny this morning. The first Christmas card we got was from our cat sitter and was addressed to Columbo, Smudge and Pickles. So I hung it on the wall like I do with the Christmas cards every year. But none of the other cards came before we left, so the cat sitter's card is still the only one hanging. The cat sitter must be all, wow, they are losers if I'm the only person sending them a card.

Anyway, I started back at work again yesterday, and it was crazy busy. I think I like it better when it's quieter. Also, I'm slow. It took me two hours to sign a new person up yesterday. I'm going to have to practice that.

I'm going to get a Mary Kay facial on Saturday. The new person I signed up at Curves is a Mary Kay lady, so I'm going to go get sold stuff. But that's cool, because I like their make-up and they don't test on animals.

We're staying at the Bellagio when we go to Las Vegas later this month. I'm am mucho tempted by the spa treatments. Vacation for the Beppy. A real, nice vacation. Not a hectic lumpy bed filled trip. I need a vacation after my last vacation.

I finished Ben's second sock yesterday. They turned out really well and fit him just right.

I knit a neck warmer for Missy, and then one a lot like it for my mother in law.

Everyone liked their Christmas presents, I think. And we had lots of fun candy making.

Ben got me an awesome set of 101 cookie cutters from Wilton. Now I just have to find a cut-out cookie recipe I like.

The house is a disaster from coming home with stuff, and then a weekend of cooking and stuff and not cleaning. I had some kind of death bug thing from flying home, so most of the weekend I was gross disgusting nasty sick.

I started adorable little boy socks for Brady with the leftover bits of yarn from Ben's sock. They'll be cute I think, even though they're a staid grey tweed.

I really just want to sit on the couch and knit, but I'm setting cleaning goals for myself before I do that. It's bad enough that the computer just sucked up an hour and a half of my time. Maybe even two hours, I was keeping track well enough, I'm afraid.
