Quick, cute girls' skirts

Here a couple of skirtsI made for my niece. The bandannas are $1 each and I used elastic I already had. So, two skirts for a couple of hours and four dollars.

I used this tutorial
http://snips-and-spice.blogspot.com/2011/01/handkerchief-skirt.html?m=1
with no adjustments other than to top stitch the waist seam on the skirt as a final touch.

What about skirts for boys? My younger son is going through a phase (we think!) and I want to be supportive of his decisions. I was thinking something floral for Christmas. Suggestions?
